Delete your PawCast account and data
This page explains how to delete a PawCast account and the associated data. PawCast is operated by Yushang Lung under CB Studio.
Delete in the app
- Open PawCast on Android.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete account.
- Review the warning and confirm. Google or Firebase may require you to sign in again for security.
- Keep the app online until it confirms completion. If PawCast reports a pending or failed deletion, sign in again if requested and retry; do not assume the request finished without confirmation.
If you cannot access the app
Email aa22396584@gmail.com with the subject PawCast account deletion request. Include the email address used for Google sign-in, if any, and a brief explanation of why you cannot use in-app deletion.
Never send your password, authentication token, full payment-card details, precise location history, or pet-health images by email. We may request a safe verification step before deleting account-linked data. An anonymous account that was never linked to a verifiable sign-in may only be deletable from the device that can still access it.
What a completed PawCast deletion removes
- Your Firebase Authentication account.
- The PawCast Firestore user document and subcollections, including account-linked dog and walk records.
- Account-linked health scan jobs, results, audit/usage records, AI usage and associated cache entries, and anonymous-account merge tickets that identify your Firebase user ID.
- Account-linked dog-photo and pet-health-media Storage prefixes controlled by PawCast.
- PawCast local preferences and fallback dog/walk records, reminders, pending local notifications, and temporary pet-health media on that device.
- Best-effort requests to delete the FCM registration token and current Android Firebase Installation ID, plus a reset of the app's current Firebase Analytics identity/app instance.
The deletion flow is designed to be retryable if a network or recent-sign-in requirement interrupts it. PawCast logs out of RevenueCat, but logout is not the same as deleting RevenueCat's customer profile.
What may remain
- Google Play subscriptions and transactions: account deletion does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play subscriptions. Google Play may retain transaction, tax, security, and fraud-prevention records.
- RevenueCat: entitlement history or a customer profile may remain under RevenueCat's retention rules. State in your email if you also want us to submit a RevenueCat customer-deletion request where available.
- Firebase and Google service records: backups, Crashlytics traces, security records, Analytics aggregates, and provider logs can remain for their documented retention periods. Firebase documents approximately 90-day retention for Crashlytics crash traces and related identifiers. Firebase documents that deleting an Installation ID can take up to 180 days to remove it from live and backup systems; Firebase services may later create a new, unrelated Installation ID. Installation-ID deletion does not itself delete Google Analytics data.
- Seven-day deletion continuation and guards: PawCast keeps a SHA-256-derived pseudonymous backend suppression key and a separate server-only access-block document keyed by the raw Firebase user ID. The second key is required so Firestore and Storage Security Rules can reject still-valid pre-deletion sign-in tokens. A separate opaque continuation receipt may retain the raw Firebase user ID for up to seven days after PawCast data deletion so Firebase Authentication deletion can be retried after a lost response or offline period. Daily cleanup first completes pending Authentication deletion and converts that receipt to an identifier-free completion proof, then removes eligible guards. Guard bodies contain timestamps and a schema version, not profile or activity fields. Cleanup eligibility begins seven days after the most recent deletion-processing event, so physical removal can occur approximately 24 hours later.
- Weather, maps, and ads: OpenWeatherMap/Open-Meteo requests, rounded-coordinate weather caches, OpenStreetMap tile logs, and AdMob records may not carry your Firebase user ID and therefore may not be individually identifiable for deletion. PawCast weather caches stop being fresh after about ten minutes and are subject to bounded scheduled cleanup (plus asynchronous Firestore TTL where configured), but physical deletion can occur later. Provider retention and legal rights still apply.
- Required records: limited records may be retained for accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance, and aggregate or de-identified statistics may remain.
Requesting broader deletion or help
If you want deletion beyond the in-app PawCast records, identify the service in your email (for example, RevenueCat). We will verify the request, explain what we can control, and respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also have rights to access, correct, export, object to, or restrict processing depending on your location.
